YVES SAINT LAURENT (1961–2002)
Finding your own style is not easy, but once found it brings complete happiness. It gives you self-confidence, always.
Yves Saint Laurent and his life partner Pierre Berge founded their Fashion House in 1961. They had almost no capital at the beginning but a huge love for fashion and women themselves. YSL has been the first French fashion house that launched ready-to-wear collection (1967).
Yves Saint Laurent Fashion House popularized trends such as the beatnik look, safari jackets for men and women, tight trousers, tall, thigh-high boots and arguably the most famous classic tuxedo suit for women. Michael Korse said: “Every woman in the world, sometimes without even knowing it, has something in her closet inspired by Yves Saint Laurent.”
